10 de septiembre de 1906.  El Dr. Fernando Altamirano asiste a evento en honor a los participantes del Décimo Congreso Geológico Internacional, como anfitrión por parte de la Secretaría de Fomento, a la que pertenecía el Instituto Médico Nacional.   “The newly finished rooms of the Department of Fomento were thrown open, last night, in honor of the visiting members of the International Geological Congress… The guests began to arrive shortly after 8 p.m., the hour set for the reception. The entrance to the department, located in one of the wings of the Minería, on San Andres, was brilliantly lighted, and the guests passed through the doorway and hall to the elevator, which took them at once to the fourth floor where the cloak room was located. They descended the grand staircase covered with a rich red carpet to the handsome reception hall of the minister, where they were presented by José Aguilera, the director of the Geological Institute and president of the congress, to Mr. Aldasoro (sub-secretary of Fomento)… Those who assisted at the receiving and entertaining of the guests were: Andrés Aldasoro… Fernando Altamirano… (The Mexican Herald, Sept 11, 1906)
